Norris's Fightback! 🔥 Verstappen Dominates Vegas 🚀
World News
The Las Vegas Grand Prix presented a challenging race for several drivers, with Lando Norris securing a dramatic second-place finish and extending his lead over teammate Oscar Piastri by 30 points. Throughout the event, Piastri spent the initial fifteen laps closely following Isack Hadjar, ultimately overtaking him on the Strip before regaining the position during the pit stop. He was also engaged in a persistent battle to hold off Kimi Antonelli in the Mercedes, who impressively ran on hard tires until the very end. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc finished sixth, unable to fully capitalize on Antonelli’s penalty, while Carlos Sainz struggled in his Williams, ultimately dropping to seventh. Isack Hadjar secured eighth place, followed by Nico Hulkenberg and Lewis Hamilton, who mounted a remarkable recovery from a difficult qualifying session, finishing in a point-scoring position. Hamilton climbed from 13th to a point-scoring finish. Max Verstappen celebrated his sixth win of the season, acknowledging the remaining challenges: “It’s still a big gap, we always try and maximize everything we’ve got.” As the race progressed, Norris dramatically moved closer to his championship aspirations, overtaking Russell on lap 34, though he soon realized he couldn’t successfully challenge Verstappen. Adding to the difficulty, Norris’s McLaren experienced a technical issue, widening the gap between him and Verstappen in the final stages. Despite this setback, he was able to hold off Russell due to the substantial advantage he’d built while pursuing Verstappen. Piastri described the race as “frustrating,” reflecting the difficult run he’d been experiencing.
