Dream Trips Built by AI 🚀🔥🗺️
Tech & Science
Google’s AI Mode is receiving a significant upgrade designed to simplify trip creation for users. Starting this week, US users enrolled in AI Mode within Labs can now describe their desired trip – from a quick weekend escape to a grand adventure – and Google’s AI will automatically generate a detailed itinerary within a “Canvas” tool. This Canvas itinerary will include potential flight and hotel options, alongside suggested activities tailored to your preferences. Users can then refine the plan by posing follow-up questions, such as requesting hotel suggestions based on price or specific amenities, or asking for activity recommendations based on travel time. This feature, initially developed as a dynamic workspace for Gemini, has evolved to become a core part of AI Mode in Search. Beyond itinerary creation, Google is expanding the capabilities of AI Mode, enabling users to book events and local appointments through automated booking with partners like OpenTable, Resy, and Tock. Furthermore, Google is broadening its AI-powered Flight Deals search, currently available in the US, Canada, and India, to over 200 countries and territories. The company is also collaborating with major hotel chains and booking platforms – including Booking.com, Expedia, Marriott, and Wyndham – to eventually integrate agentic booking for flights and hotels too.
