Osmo Action 6: Unleash Epic Shots 🔥 🚀

The new DJI Osmo Action 6 represents a significant evolution in the company’s action camera lineup, designed to enhance creative control and performance. A key feature is the variable aperture, offering control ranging from f/2.0 to f/4.0 – allowing users to adapt to diverse shooting conditions, employing faster shutter speeds in low light to minimize motion blur, or slower shutter speeds on bright days for a smoother, more natural aesthetic. Beyond the aperture, the Action 6 incorporates a new, larger 1/1.1-inch square sensor, expanding cropping options and enabling video creation in various aspect ratios, including a dedicated 3,840 x 3,840 square mode for full 4K cropping. The camera retains impressive capabilities, supporting 4K video at up to 120 frames per second and offering a 4:3 4K mode for slow-motion capture. DJI has incorporated features from other camera brands, such as Fujifilm’s “Film Tone” function, providing six distinct color profiles directly from the camera. Furthermore, the Action 6 includes a 2x lossless digital zoom, portrait mode, and subject tracking. A new “Natural Wide” mode eliminates distortion at the frame’s edges. For specialized shots, users can opt for a macro lens or an FOV Boost lens, expanding the field of view. Early tests suggest a considerable improvement in low-light video quality compared to the Action 5, thanks to enhanced stabilization and more accurate colors achieved through SuperNight Mode. Beyond its technical upgrades, the Osmo Action 6 boasts several practical enhancements. Internal storage has been increased to 50GB, allowing for extended shooting sessions without the need for a memory card, though a microSD slot remains for added flexibility. Maintaining its rugged design, the Action 6 remains waterproof up to 20 meters, extending to nearly 200 feet when used with the DJI waterproof case. New controls are enabled through voice commands and gestures. Powered by the same 1,950mAh Extreme Battery Plus, users can expect approximately four hours of shooting time at 1080p, or two hours at 4K, all while benefiting from Rocksteady 3.0 stabilization and a dimmed screen. The camera seamlessly integrates with DJI’s expanding range of accessories, including selfie sticks, bike and helmet mounts, and body attachments. A notable improvement is the new Quick-Release Adapter Mount, featuring a dual-latch system for attachment in either direction – a significant upgrade from the previous single-latch design. Currently, the Osmo Action 6 is available through retailers such as Amazon, B&H Photo Video, and others, with availability in Europe for €379 or €479 in the Adventure Combo.
