SAP is advancing its sovereignty plans with the launch of EU AI Cloud, a strategic initiative designed to consolidate its previous efforts and provide European organizations with greater choice and control over their AI and cloud services. The goal is to accommodate diverse preferences, allowing some organizations to utilize SAP’s own data centers, others to employ trusted European providers, and still others to manage everything on-site. EU AI Cloud is specifically built to support these varied needs while ensuring data remains within the region and complies with all relevant EU regulations. Furthermore, SAP is collaborating with Cohere to introduce new agent-style and multimodal AI tools to customers via Cohere North, accessible through the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP). This partnership aims to empower industries with stringent data residency requirements to integrate production-ready AI into their daily operations, ultimately enhancing insights, improving decision support, and automating complex tasks without compromising compliance or performance. EU AI Cloud offers organizations in Europe—including enterprises and public bodies—a pathway to leverage advanced AI tools while maintaining the essential safeguards they depend on.
