Google and OpenAI have reduced generation request limits for Nano Banana Pro and Sora, responding to significant demand. Bill Peebles, who leads Sora at OpenAI, announced that free users will now be limited to six video generations per day. “Our GPUs are experiencing high demand,” he explained. Unlike previous limitations, Peebles indicated that these measures are permanent, though users can purchase additional generations as needed, representing a broader strategy to monetize the platform. Generation limits for ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers remain unchanged. Google is also restricting free users of Nano Banana Pro—which launched last week—to two images daily. This change, a reduction from the previous three, was first observed by 9to5Google, and the company cautions that these limits may shift frequently and “without notice.”
