Opera AI: Ask Anything 🤖✨ Genius Search!
Tech & Science
Opera’s latest Android update introduces a unified AI access point through a new search bar feature. The update aims to simplify users’ experience by eliminating the need to switch between multiple AI applications on their phones. The new feature, dubbed “Ask AI,” will appear within the search bar, enabling users to directly engage with AI models previously accessed through apps like ChatGPT. Furthermore, users can now attach files—such as photos and PDFs—to the address bar and request AI assistance with tasks like translating foreign-language text or summarizing documents. To extend this functionality, users can also attach entire browser tabs, allowing them to follow up with questions specifically related to the content of the linked page. Opera notes that this attachment process is initiated by tapping the three-dot menu at the top right of the app, followed by a question about the webpage. Crucially, Opera emphasizes a commitment to privacy and security, stating that the AI engine only processes the context of the shared tab, never accessing external browsing history or activity; only the data from the selected page is transmitted and shared manually by the user.
